Kingswood is a Tesco own-brand, and the two foods we hold sit a long way apart. Across 2 rated foods it averages 70/100 (Good), ranking 180 of 304, with scores from 59 to 81.
That gap of 22 points is the whole point of this page. Kingswood Adult Dog Wet scores 81/100, which is genuinely good and better than plenty of specialist brands charging several times as much. The dry food is a different proposition entirely. Same name on the pack, same aisle, very different labels.
Supermarket own-brands get written off on reflex, and that reflex is wrong here. High-meat, grain-free wet food at supermarket distribution is a good thing for owners, and there is no reason to be sniffy about where it is bought. The food is made in the Netherlands, which is normal for European wet food and says nothing about quality either way.
Cost is the other half of the trade. The cheaper of the two comes in at around £0.98 a day, while the higher-scoring one costs meaningfully more. Neither is a bad buy, but they are not the same buy.
