Our take on Lakes

Written by us, from the labels. Never written, reviewed or paid for by the brand.

We have rated 1 Lakes food, and it scores 86/100 (Very good).

That is a strong result, and it comes from an own-brand: Lakes Collection is the house label of WCF Pet & Equestrian, a Cumbrian retailer. Own-brands get dismissed as the cheap option by default, and this one is a decent argument against the habit. At around £1.00 a day it costs less than plenty of foods scoring well below it.

One food is not a range, though, and that is the honest limit of this page. A single high score tells you this particular recipe holds up. It tells you nothing about what the next one would look like.

If you shop with WCF anyway, this is a sensible thing to put in the basket. If you are choosing between brands from scratch, compare it against the other dry foods at the same price per day and let the numbers decide.
