The protein is black soldier fly larvae rather than meat. That sounds like a gimmick and mostly is not one: it is a genuinely novel protein, which makes it worth a look for dogs that react to chicken, beef or lamb, and it is farmed with a far smaller footprint than livestock. Our score does not award points for novelty or for sustainability - it reads the label like any other - so the marks here come from the recipe, not the story.
