Before anything else: this range exists on purpose, and the purpose is price. Jollyes launched it as the cheapest pet brand in the UK, into a market where a lot of households have had to trade down on everything including the dog's dinner. Nobody buying it is doing anything wrong, and we are not going to pretend the alternative to a cheap food is always a better food rather than no food.

What the score reflects is disclosure. Our system credits named meats, declared percentages and ingredient lists you can follow. Value wet foods are typically labelled in broad category terms instead, which lets the recipe change from batch to batch depending on what is cheap that month without a word changing on the pack. There is nothing there for the score to credit, which is how a number ends up this low. It is a verdict on what the label tells you, not a claim that dogs eating it come to harm.

One food is not a range either. This is a new own-label line and we hold a single product from it, so treat the score as a read on that pack rather than on everything with the name.
