Wolf of Wilderness sells an ancestral, wolf-inspired story, and it is worth separating that from what the labels actually say. Across 65 rated foods it averages 70/100 (Good), running 15 to 93 - a spread of 78 points - and ranks 180 of 290.

The recipes themselves are decent. High named-meat content, grain-free, reasonably short lists. Its best, Wolf of Wilderness Mini RAW Freeze-dried Snacks, takes 93/100, and our score rewards those choices regardless of the marketing wrapped around them.

The framing is where scepticism belongs. Dogs are not wolves - domestication left them considerably better at digesting starch - so "what a wolf would eat" is a branding device rather than a nutritional argument. That does not make the food worse; it just means the story is not the reason it scores well.

Cost is mid-market at around £0.49 a day for the cheapest.

Buy it because the ingredient list is good, which it generally is. Not because of the wolf.
