Our take on Wolfworthy

Written by us, from the labels. Never written, reviewed or paid for by the brand.

Wolfworthy scores high and scores flat. Across 3 rated foods it averages 90/100 (Exceptional), ranking 9 of 290 brands, with a spread of just 1 points. Whichever recipe you pick, you get the same standard.

It is a UK brand sold direct on subscription rather than through shops, and every recipe carries the same claim on the front of the bag: four parts named meat and offal to one part fruit, vegetables and botanicals. Our score does not award points for the marketing shorthand. It awards them for what the shorthand implies on the label: a high declared meat percentage with the animal named rather than described as a category. Wolfworthy's labels back the claim up, which is why the numbers land where they do.

The best of them is Wolfworthy 80/20 Countryside at 90/100, but the gap to the others is small enough that you should choose on protein source and your dog's tolerance, not on the score.

The trade-off is the model, not the food. Subscription buying is convenient and it also makes price comparison harder, because you are not standing in front of a shelf. Work out the cost per day before you commit, and check the alternatives below at the same price point.
