Our take on Pala

Written by us, from the labels. Never written, reviewed or paid for by the brand.

Pala works in air-dried food, and both the score and the price reflect that: 86/100 (Very good) across 5 rated foods, spanning just 2 points from 85 to 87, ranking 35 of 304. Pala Chicken & Salmon leads at 87/100.

Air-drying removes moisture gently after production, so the finished food is extremely meat-dense and the ingredient list is short and specific. Air-dried is one of the best-scoring formats we track.

The cost is among the highest on this site - about £5.98 a day at the cheapest. The reason is straightforward: you are paying for meat and then paying to take the water out of it, so the price per kilogram of finished food is very high.

Excellent food by the label. Genuinely a luxury by the price, and worth being clear-eyed about that before committing.
