Couscous is small granules of semolina, which is wheat, and plain cooked couscous is not harmful to a dog with no wheat sensitivity. It is easy to digest and is sometimes used as the carbohydrate in a bland meal alongside plain chicken. What it does not do is add anything nutritionally that your dog's complete food has missed - it is starch, and it should be counted within the daily calories rather than added on top of a full bowl. The thing to watch is how couscous is normally prepared. It is almost always made up with stock, which is extremely high in salt and usually contains onion. Packet couscous comes pre-seasoned for the same reason. Plain couscous cooked in water is the only version to share.

A tablespoon or two of cooked plain couscous for a small dog, up to about a quarter of a cup for a large one, occasionally.
