The claims in this category deserve a hard look. 'Light', 'lean' and 'weight control' are used loosely, and two foods wearing the same badge can differ meaningfully in calories. The number that matters is kcal per 100g; comparing it between a food and its standard sibling tells you whether you are buying a real reduction or a sticker. Protein is worth watching too, because decent protein helps a dog lose fat rather than muscle.
